First of all you don't need ads. Everyone hates ads (were planning on getting rid of ours). We use the
Conduit Toolbar (AKA the VGC Infobar) to pay for our site. Google pays us for the google search box on it.

Next, to upgrade the look of the site. Currently you are using text against a repeating body background image. That does not look good. Learn CSS at w3schools.com so you can use the div tag better (if you don't already know). You can set images in the div tag thus giving you the look of VGC (text against a complement image against a repeating body background). Thats how we got each topic image to have different text in it.

Re-updating that marquee for each page must kill you (if that is what you do, Im assuming). I suggest an iframe tag

Lastly, I saw your post on Game Maker School. You may use these any way you like: VGC's Game Maker Tutorial Pages

I really like how you have progressed to this new site. I'm just trying to help out by posting this. I'm not trying to make your site look bad or small by posting this. ( I don't want you to mis-understand why I have posted this)

lol yeah I'm still working on my html skills, but I do have some big plans for the site. Some of it depends on PsiMasterZ (ed for Canada) and if he can learn to create flash stuff. By the way your site is cool!

Thanks. We are also working on a better version of our site. One that will have a log in/out box on every page. Also the ability to change the style of the entire site (by a member) with the click of a button (just like the forums). But it is still far from ready.

So he is really going to buy flash maker? That program costs about $600.

Hey! I just found a FREE flash making program. I have NOT used it yet since it doesn't work on Vista. Although I am planning on putting it on my other computer when I can. Anyway, here is the link:

Also, for your images. Set the border to 0 so that the link border around it will disappear. Look inside img. border=0

Code:
<a href="http://www.vgcommand.com/">
<img src=".\index_files\vgcl.bmp" border=0>
</a>

One thing I think is that you should get rid of the side bar. Think of some other kind of navigation. It always seems to get in the say and it makes the actual pages smaller than you would want.

What if I could make a code that would show/hide the sidebar? Although, AIDestroyer would have to update the site again. (probably every page)

That sounds great, but it is weird, sometimes it's there, and others it's not.

Now I understand. The sidebar shows up on http://presstartpro.com, but when it goes to the forum site, the side bar disapears. When that happens though, there is no link back to presstart.

I've been talking to AIDestroyer about that for a while now. I have a few ideas for it but, none of them are going to make him happy. ( they all involve major site reconstruction )

I told you I'm happy with these forums. If I made my own forums, I promise that I wouldn't have the great support, not to mention the admin area, that I have now. It would be like 10 times the hassle!
