I want them to make Game Maker 8 with easier 3D abillity. Make it do more, easier, and with less coding. Almost how on 7 you can make a full 2D game with little to no coding! That would be great!

A layering function for the 3d3 mode on GM would be great!!!! A z-index styled depth already exists. I don't see why they can't apply that to 3d3 mode. Sorry that I havn't posted in a while. YoYoGames will not be adding to the d3d functions. At least, that is the word going around in the forums. Basically, they are saying that Game Maker was originallly made for 2d games and that is the way they want to keep it.

I don't think that they will be adding to the 3d funcions until somebody proves how powerful they can be. I looked for some good 3d games on the YoYoGames website and I only found three good ones. They even had a few glitches. Again, until somebody makes something good with the 3d functions YoYoGames isn't planning on improving them.

I, however, am planning on creating a 3d game (further in the future) that will show YoYoGames how powerful the 3d functions can be! I don't have any ideas yet and I don't have a story for it yet. In fact I am not planning on starting it until I finish two other games.

It may also be possible that they are waiting for a set number of 3d games to be up before they attempt adding to the 3d funcions.

I believe an area needs to be set up just for 3d functions and ideas to collect (either here or over in my forums). The area would be a good area for people new to 3d functions to start.

It's really a shame they wont take advantage of it

I'm not going to give them an option in the matter. I'm going to make an awesome game that will make everyone want to start using the 3D mode more often. Then the Game Maker users will then want more 3D functions. YoYoGames will have no option other than to start working on the 3D functions.

Also, I set up an area in my forums only for the 3D functions. Anything you could add would be great (if you want to)!

Well, when I have enough time to get something up take a look at it. I thought you used the 3D tools a bit. What about your 3D engine?

I used the yoyogames tutorial on 3D. Plus it is a pretty weak engine. You can walk through walls lol!
